This is a blog written by yours truly, Axel II The Great (this is my internet alias). Here we’ll explore the GOAT empire, Rome, and anything loosely affected by it. This means that while my main focus will be the Roman/Byzantine Empires, not everything I cover will fall under Rome.

So I might stray off topic with some posts about the Ottomans or the Persians. Problem? Speak to my manager… wait, I am the manager.

I’m writing this blog as a way for me to research various historical topics mostly centered around Rome/Byzantium. Whether I’m discussing the Roman Empire at its peak or its decline, I hope to cover the factual details. At the same time, I will also be adding humorous commentary of my own through memes and millennial humor.
